Kara Hackney

Business Administrator

As a Business Administrator for Optistar Technology Consultants, Kara Hackney is responsible for managing all the monthly client billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable duties. Ms. Hackney handles the contract management for all Optistar Technology Consultants clients and is the point person for all billing tasks both internally with Account Managers and externally with clients. She is also responsible for all timesheets and expense report submittal for the team globally. Ms. Hackney is the Operations Liaison with our parent company, VERTEX, and she works closely with all employee on-boarding, training, and Human Resource matters. Ms. Hackney has been a member of the Leadership Team for over a year now and is an integral part of sharing our Core Focus “To serve exceptionally” and working toward our goals and measurables.

Ms. Hackney joined Optistar Technology Consultants in 2017 after they were acquired by VERTEX where she had been supporting the Surety Claims Consulting Group and Owner’s Project Management team since 2011 as an Executive Administrator. While in this role, Ms. Hackney supported Corporate operations by managing all office supply ordering company-wide, managing the FedEx shipping accounts corporately, and working with various other departments on special projects.

Ms. Hackney is Chairman of the Charitable Giving Committee for VERTEX proudly since the inception. The Charitable Giving Committee was established to support causes that our employee-owners, clients, and vendors are passionate about in our local, national, and global communities.
